Winter Wonderland

I am sure a lot of you have seen on the news the snow that keeps piling up in Southern Utah, well here are just a few pictures. It has snowed mostly everyday this week, and there is still more snow in the forecast. I guess we are just going to get buried. It is not much to drive to work in, but snow always makes for a lot better Christmas, right?

Cute Christmas Signs

I thought these turned out really cute being I only did it on a whim! I was starting to get my house decorated for Christmas and decided I needed a couple of things to put on my wall. I came up with this idea using things I already had, the wood was from the cabinet shop dumpster. I have had a lot of fun getting ready for Christmas and doing craft projects, but it keep me busy. I just wanted to post these and brag a little, I thought they turned out cute and were very affordable!

Busy Holiday Season!

It has been a really long time since I have updated for two reasons:
1. I didn't have anything exciting to blog about.
2. My time has been directed at other Holiday projects.

My parents and sister, Jill, came to our house for Thanskgiving. It turned out pretty good. I had taken the whole week off of work, so that was a nice break even though it was busy to get everything done. My blogging time has been replaced with the many Christmas projects I have been working on: Christmas cards, gifts, etc. However I think everything is getting finished up so that will be nice. However I still have to get my house decorated, and that will probably be and upcoming blog: Cutting our Christmas Tree and decorating the house.

Hamblin Valley Halloween Witch!

I have been very bad at blogging lately. I took this picture a couple weekends ago while we were on our way for a load of wood. So here is my Halloween greeting to you all... Happy Halloween! Now for you that don't know this area... this witch on a pole in the middle of nowhere. Now that is a little spooky!

Okay here is a few other pictures of our last few weekends of wood gathering... it was about 3 weekends ago we had the great idea to go, but that was the weekend it snowed. Anyway here is the snow and some pictures for fall from our expeditions.

It's that time again....

Okay so this last weekend we went and got our first load of wood for the season. I realized this is a really good work out, but also that I am out of shape. Both Dave and I had a few sore muscles for a day or two. But this is only load one, and we are already planning to get a load this weekend. So for the next few weekends that is where you will find Dave and I, but I guess all the hard work pays off when it gets cold. It keeps the natural gas bill down on those cold months, and besides the heat from a wood stove is different than just having a warm house.

Jimmy Test Drive

I have just not got around to changing my blog, so this is a little out of date. A few weekends ago we drove up on, Ear Hill or Communication Mountain, which name you call it depends on how long you have lived in Enterprise, but is named by all the communication/radio towers. It was kind of fun to see Pinevalley off in the distance, and looking the other is a really good overlook of the city of Enterprise. I think it would be fun to go back in the next week or two as more of the leaves change colors. It was just a Sunday afternoon drive, and a good way to test drive our Jimmy.

Oh yeah I guess I should update you on the Jimmy. Dave and I for a couple of months have been a 4 car family: 1985 GMC (Dave's truck), Dodge Dakota (my truck), Ford Thunderbird (gas saver we got from a trade of Dave's motorcycle only a 2 door), GMC Jimmy. Anyway we got a really good deal on a Jimmy because Dave can fix his own, and a customer didn't want to pay to fix it. We thought it was a good buy, and would give us a vehicle with room to take people with us. Then we lucked out with another customer having a junker car they wanted a motor put in, but Dave counter offered with the car which was definetely a better and cheaper option for them. Anyway we are now happy to have 3 vehicles: all 4x4 so we can go the hills by ourselves or bring a long some company!
